Big Brother Mzansi is a television series in South Africa produced Red Pepper Pictures for M-Net and Mzansi Magic.
The reality TV show will return to a brand new season this year.
The winner of Season 5 will walk away with a cash prize of R2 million.
There have been four (4) winners to date:
- Season 1 – Ferdinand Rabi

- Season 4 – McJunior

Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 Application: Registration and Start Date
Big Brother Mzansi application form for registration is FREE.
The show organizers won’t charge you anything or ask you to bring any penny even after they have informed you as one housemate.
You do not need to buy or make any payment for the form.
Registration is open to eligible South Africans.
All you need is to make yourself available for the process, which is very strict and not biased.
Here are the eligibility requirements:
- Be a legal resident or a citizen of South Africa with a valid passport.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- You must be ready to travel, and able to stay on the show for up to 70 days without contacting the outside world.
- If you took part in any of the previous seasons as a housemate, then you may not take part again.
- Record and upload your 2-minute video.
- Have an active mobile phone number.
- Have an active email address where you can receive messages for the audition.

#BBMzansi online audition is OPEN and entering is simple.
- Record a 2-minute video clip of yourself showing what you’re made of and explain why you deserve to be in the upcoming season.
- While doing this, ensure you are real, try as much as possible to be yourself and be self-confident.
- Ensure you use a very high-quality phone camera to make the video attractive enough for the panel to watch.
- If you notice any error in the video, edit it or redo another video to stand a better chance of winning the audition.
- Your camera must be held horizontally, not in portrait style, and make sure you put real-life examples or experiences when describing yourself.
- The video must contain your name, e-mail and phone number clearly stated and avoid all forms of filters, special video effects, copyrighted music and background music.
- Once you are done with the video recording and editing, log on to the official auditions page to fill out the online registration form and upload your video.
- Before you begin the submission process, please carefully read and accept the terms and conditions.
- If, in reviewing your form, any inconsistency in your bio-data or deliberate withholding of information that is very relevant to your personality is noticed, you may be disqualified from the selection process.
- If you apply for the reality TV show audition, you will need to grant the organizer of the event to conduct civil, criminal, and medical and other types of background check they deemed fit.
- All selected applicants would receive an email notification if they have been selected for the next phase of the audition.
- If you do not receive an email by the stipulated date, you have not been selected.
- If you are chosen to live in the house, it is your responsibility to make any necessary arrangements with your employer and family in anticipation of your extended absence.
- The house is extensively outfitted with video and audio recording devices that will record, broadcast and exhibit your actions and voice at all times, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in every room and space in the house for the duration of your participation in the contest.
- You will be observed at all times by the producer and the public watching on television, the internet, mobile devices and all other media.

Entries for Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 open on 25th September 2024 and close end of October 2024.
Those who want to become the next housemate will need to submit a two-minute audition tape.
To stand a chance to be the next winner of this new season, applicants need to be creative, memorable, and have the wit to outplay and outlast their fellow housemates.
Online auditions are open via the Mzansi Magic website.
Any submissions made outside this time frame will not be considered.
After online auditions, if you are selected, you will be contacted and sent the next steps and process.
Ensure that you make adequate preparation and have the application requirements.
Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 premieres on 12th January 2025 on DStv Channel 161 Mzansi Magic and the 24-hour broadcast Channel 198.
The show will be available on the DStv Compact, DStv Compact Plus and DStv Premium only.
